I have to start this blog with a quick confession about myself. Although I am a makeup junkie that loves makeup, I am a bit lazy about makeup. I do not like foundation and therefore never wear it. I feel concealer looks cake-like so don’t use it. I love eyeshadow but feel that for every day it’s simply so much work, especially since I have a three-year-old and am always running here or there. So basically although I love makeup, I do not wear a ton of it.

Having said that, there are three makeup items I wear every day, and will not leave my house without; blush, lip gloss, and mascara. These are my three staple makeup items that help me add a little color, a little freshness and get me ready to go, quickly.

Mascara is a must! I feel it simply opens your eyes up. It is easy and can make a huge difference in your appearance. One of my favorite mascaras for years and years has been YSL Faux Cils Mascara. It is amazing! It lengthens, thickens and creates a faux lash look easily without the need for primer or too much layering. I simply cannot get enough of BABY DOLL YSL mascara. I recently decided to use one of their latest formulas, the YSL Baby Doll Lash Mascara just for a change of pace.

I, of course, expected it to be great; after all, it is made by YSL who makes AMAZING mascara! The idea behind the mascara being to create a doll-like, chunky, faux and more fun lash. This is definitely a bolder and more adventurous mascara than the classic Faux Cils!

So I tried it, and absolutely LOVED it! No surprise there, right? It definitely needs a little more layering than the original faux curls, but looks fun and flirty. The one surprise is that it does look a little clumpy, but that is how it is supposed to look. Again this is a bold look mascara for “look at me” eyes. So if you are looking for a fun weekend mascara for a night out this is your go to! Your lashes will look beautiful, flirtatious and so posh!
