DIY Organic Sugar Lip Scrub

Nothing feels or looks better than smooth and nourished lips. During the summer months, this becomes challenging, as sun exposure tends to dry our lips and create rough skin. This poses not only a challenge when it comes to maintaining them comfortable, but also when we try to apply our favorite bright lip color.

The solution to dry and rough lips is simple, a great DIY Organic Lip Scrub. Yes, they sell these all over the place, but now that many of us are at home, why not make our own homemade, Organic Lip Scrub? As I always say, “There is nothing better than when you know exactly what you are using on your skin”!

Making an at-home Organic Lip Scrub is quite simple. All you need is three simple ingredients: organic brown sugar, organic honey, and organic coconut oil. These three ingredients combined create the perfect, nourishing, and lip smoothing lip scrub. Combine 2 tablespoons of organic brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of organic honey, and 1 tablespoon of organic solid coconut oil. Place ingredients in a bowl and mix. Once all three parts are incorporated, store the balm in a glass or plastic container. I prefer to use a glass, amber container. The darker color protects the organic ingredients from being compromised due to light exposure and maintains the coconut oil from becoming overly liquefied.

Remember that because this lip scrub is made with all organic, fresh ingredients, the shelf life will be about two weeks! Therefore if you end up with more than you need for two weeks, gift it to a friend!

For your best results, exfoliate lips twice a week. Please do not overdo it! Over exfoliating, your lips will cause more harm than good! Using your DIY Organic Lip Scrub will assure you that you can maintain your lips smooth, nourished, and feel great. Smooth lips allow for better lip color application and better absorption of hydrating lip products.
