Always ready to try new things, I was very excited to try lash perming and lash tinting. The idea of having darker and curled lashes without the need for mascara is very exciting. The one thing I never leave the house without is mascara. I never use a lash curler, however that is simply because I am a bit lazy when it comes to getting ready in the morning. Getting my four year old and myself ready for school in the morning means I have very little prep time. Mornings allow me enough time to take a shower, brush my hair, apply blush, mascara and get out the door.
I was definitely exciting about trying the lash perming and tinting to see if it would allow me to skip the mascara some days. The process itself is quite fast and painless. Each process takes about eight to ten minutes. The most uncomfortable part is you cannot open your eyes during the process. I decided to take advantage of the time and took a small nap. Any down time for a mom is a great opportunity for a nap.
Lash perming involves applying a lash perm solution to your lashes. First they clean your eyes and make sure that you have no eye makeup on. Then a rubber piece is placed above your top lashes. Once this piece is in place, the esthetician applies the solution to your lashes, wrapping them around the rubber bumper that helps create the perfect curl. Once your eight minutes is up, the esthetician cleans the solution from your lashes and removes the rubber bumper from your lashes. You immediately see a beautiful curl to your lashes! It is quite amazing to see how pretty they look naturally curled without the need for an eyelash curler.
The next step is the lash tinting. This also takes about eight to ten minutes. The esthetician places a small cloth under your eyes to help protect your skin from the tint. They then apply the tint to your top and bottom lashes. Your eyes remain closed. Once time is up they clean it off. I was very impressed with what I saw. My lashes were noticeably darker!
Does this mean I can go without mascara now? Not at all. Lash perming and lash tinting won’t create the same effect as when you apply mascara. You will still need to apply mascara for a truly long, thick and dark lash. However, you will be able to skip the eyelash curler all together!You will also have darker and beautiful lashes every morning and will have more noticeable lashes without any makeup.
My final verdict is, I would definitely do this again! Its nice to wake up with curled and dark lashes. The total cost for the lash perming and lash tinting was no more than $100, and last about one to two months. It is also nice to have this beautiful natural curl that is enhanced even more when mascara is applied.
