Kim Kardahsian’s latest endeavor is all about beautiful, glowing skin. Yes, Skkn by Kim is out and we are going to give you a quick look at what you get for what is a very costly price tag. Skkn by Kim offers you a 9 Step Skincare Routine. It has all the must-haves of a complete skincare lineup plus a couple of extras. The cost? Well, the entire set runs about $600. is this price worth it? Not sure I can answer that yet, as I have just begun to use my kit.
First, let me start by introducing the kit and what you will receive. The first two items are the Cleanser and the Toner. The Cleanser is a creamy, very gentle cleanser for use day and night. Some of the key ingredients in the cleanser include Aloe Vera, Glycerin, and Grape Seed Extract. If you wish to buy the Cleanser alone it costs $43, which to me is a bit pricey for the product you are getting. There are so many other cleansers that I feel work better and cost a lot less. I am not a huge fan of cream cleansers, but it is nice and leaves your skin soft, which is a plus. The Toner which costs $45, is made with AHA’s and Enzymes to help smooth skin and boost radiance. Again, for the price, I felt it was not as great of a product as other exfoliating toners. I found it a bit soapy, which was strange.
You will also receive an Exfoliator, which has become a favorite! This product alone costs $55 and is created with key ingredients which include Pumpkin Enzyme, AHA’s, and Pomegranate Enzymes. I truly appreciate this product. It leaves your skin so soft and feels like butter on your skin. This is a WINNER for the Skkn Routine.
Next on the 9-step lineup, you get the Face Cream for $85 and Eye Cream for $75. Do I LOVE these two products? No. Do I hate them? No. I simply do not feel they have any amazing immediate results when used alone. The face Cream includes key ingredients like Alfafa Complex, Squaline, and Shea Butter. Once again, these are very common ingredients, which truly do not impress me too much. I think there are a lot more options for less money that have better ingredients and will give you better results. The Eye Cream, likewise created with Collagen and Hyaluronic Peptides feels nice on the skin, and is definitely moisturizing; but again I don’t see any great results.
Skkn also offers you two serums, a Vitamin C8 Serum and a Hyaluronic Acid Serum. The Vitamin C8 serum costs $90, which is not bad. This serum does have some great key ingredients. While it is not thick as I prefer, it is easily absorbed and created with one of the purest forms of vitamin c, 3-0 Ethyl Ascorbic Acid. This is one of the most stable forms of vitamin c and therefore one of the most effective. Therefore this product does get a huge thumbs up!
The Hyaluronic Acid Serum is also made very well. It feels light on the skin and absorbs easily. The website recommends mixing a couple of drops of the Hyaluronic Acid Serum with the Face Cream for an instant glow. I did try this and was very happy with the results. This serum will cost you $90 as well, which again is costly but the product is made well and therefore is worth it.
Lastly, you will receive two oils, Oil Drops for day and Night Oil. Each of these costs $95 each. this is definitely costly for the product. First and foremost, you do not need two oils. The night oil has some retinol in it, but not enough to truly make it worth the cost.
One thing I love about the line is the option to purchase refills, which cost less than the original product in the container. The idea of refills has been used by many other skincare lines and it is a nice option for buyers who want to be more eco friends and save on recurring costs. Overall, the line is nice, is it worth $600, absolutely not. I understand a lot of the cost is probably spent on the very chic packaging and very Kim Kardashian, but again there are a lot better options for the price tag on the market. I am going to complete my 30-day trial using just this line, but so far (two weeks in) I just feel there are better options out there.
