Double Cleansing Eye Makeup

Double-Cleansing has become my favorite way in which to remove eye makeup. I am not someone that puts on a ton of makeup overall, but when it comes to my eyes I do go crazy with the mascara. I have found that triple cleansing is not only efficient with regards to removing my eye makeup thoroughly, but also with regards to removing it gently.

Double-Cleansing has become the new way of cleansing for many of us skincare-obsessed individuals. Initially, I was hesitant to start triple-cleansing. I assumed that using oil would create oiliness in my skin and then cause me to break out. Once I started to do my research I realized that oil extracts oil. Yes! Believe it or not, oil helps to lift and eliminate excess oil in pores, blackheads, and whiteheads. Even if you tend to have oily skin, oil cleansing will not cause you to experience more breakouts; it will help you eliminate some of the excess sebum that your skin is producing.

With regards to dissolving makeup, double-cleansing works wonders. First and foremost the oil cleansing, which happens first, dissolves and melts away makeup, gently. This is truly what sold me on double cleansing, how gentle it is, and how effective it is. I find that the oil removes my mascara and primer easily, gently, and leaves my skin soft. I love to use the Living Libations Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn Oil. This oil is simply one of the best for double-cleansing. It is gentle, nourishing, and will not clog pores. I like to warm up the oil in my hands and gently massage it throughout my face to remove makeup. On my eyes, I gently use my ring to follow the natural curve of my lashes. that helps to gently and slowly dissolve the makeup without yanking out my lashes or irritating my eyes.

After I have used the oil, I move on to using Bioderma Micellaire Solution. This second step further helps to dissolve my makeup while refreshing my skin. I love how my skin feels after I have applied the micellaire solution. it is soft, still nourished from the oil, and radiant. I like to apply the solution to a cotton swab or cleansing towel and once again “gently” apply to my skin. On my eyes, I hold the moist towel on my lashes and lift to remove. I never rub the towel on my eyes. the oil has already dissolved most of the makeup so I truly do not find I need o do much more.

The last step of my double-cleansing routine (an actaul third step) is the actual face cleanser! Right now I have two favorite cleansers, the Tatcha The Deep Cleanser and the Biore Witch Hazel Cleanser. Both of these are amazing! For the money, the Biore Cleanser is incredible. I have been repurchasing this cleanser now for months, that is just how much I love it. The Tatcha Cleanser has become a new favorite. It has tiny micro beads in it so that you get both a cleanse and mild exfoliation. For this step, I moisten my skin and gently massage the cleanser on my face and neck.

The end result of this double-cleansing is clean, refreshed, and glowing skin. I know it may sound like a lot, but it actually is not. Triple Cleansing is truly amazing and so effective at removing makeup, yet ultra-gentle for your skin. For more information watch my youtube on triple cleansing!
